About QR & Barcode Reader / Decoder

Decode QR codes and 1D/2D barcodes without installing an app — upload an image, drop a file, or point your webcam at the code and read the result instantly. The reader extracts the embedded payload, whether that's a URL, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, or vCard contact details, and shows it in real time. All decoding runs locally in your browser, so the images and codes you scan never leave your device.

How to use

  1. Choose an input method: upload an image file, drag and drop one, or enable your webcam.
  2. If using the webcam, position the QR code or barcode within the camera frame.
  3. Wait for the reader to detect and decode the symbol automatically.
  4. Read the extracted result — for example a URL, text, Wi-Fi credentials, or contact info.
  5. Copy the decoded value or open a detected link.

Frequently asked questions

What types of codes can the reader decode?

QR codes plus 1D and 2D barcodes. Depending on the code, it can extract URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, vCard contact details, and product/identifier numbers.

Do I need to upload the image to a server to scan it?

No. Decoding happens entirely client-side in your browser. The image or webcam frame is processed locally and is never uploaded, which is why scanning works even offline.

Can I scan with my webcam instead of a file?

Yes. You can grant camera access and hold a code up to your webcam for live scanning, or upload/drag in an existing image if you prefer not to use the camera.

Why can't a particular code be read?

Decoding can fail if the image is blurry, low-contrast, badly cropped, glare-covered, or too low-resolution. Try a sharper, well-lit image that includes the full code with some surrounding quiet-zone margin.
